Rollins' HR stalls Lohse's try for 10th win

MILWAUKEE — Jimmy Rollins hit a two-run homer to break a 1-1 tie in the sixth as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 4-1 at Miller Park Wednesday night.

The Phillies took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on Chase Utley’s eighth homer of the season, but the Brewers tied it in the bottom of the second on Lyle Overbay’s RBI single.

But Rollins touched Brewers starter Kyle Lohse (9-4) with a one-out, two-run homer to right center field just over the outstretched glove of Logan Schaefer.

Cameron Rupp added an insurance run with a run-scoring single in the seventh off Lohse, who pitched eight innings, allowing seven hits and four runs.

Lohse struck out eight Phillies.

Roberto Hernandez (4-8) pitched eight solid innings as he gave up only three hits and one earned run.

Jonathan Papelbon retired the Brewers in order in the ninth for his 22nd save of the season.

The Brewers have now lost eight of their last nine games.
