Brandon Kenneth Slattery

Amy Noel Damon

Edgerton/McFarland – Brandon Kenneth Slattery, age 24, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Two angels called to heaven too soon, our beloved son and brother, Brandon and his beloved fiancée, Amy. Brandon was born on June 14, 1988 in Madison, the son of Richard & Lori (Rickli) Slattery.

He graduated from McFarland High School in 2007. He played football, hockey and lacrosse in high school. As a senior he was in the Dane County Youth Apprenticeship program where he worked as an apprentice at Thorstad Chevrolet. He was mentored by Master Mechanic Mark Walker and graduated from Madison College with a degree in Auto Mechanics in 2009. Presently he was working at Zimbrick Audi. Brandon coached youth football in McFarland and also girl’s JV lacrosse in Verona. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed this with his good buddies. He was a wonderful person who loved adventure and loved life. He was always on the go and had such a knack for taking things apart and putting them back together. He was best known for his camo hat that he wore every day and his flannel shirts. He was a rough and tough kind of kid, but a big softie at heart. He was so proud of what he accomplished at such a young age, indcluding buying his own home.

He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Amber and Kirsten Slattery, of McFarland; future in-laws, Dave, Tammy and Ross Damon; maternal grandparents, LeRoy and Karen Rickli; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Joann Slattery; grandmother Jacqueline Drinkwater; aunts and uncles, Julie (Mike Mader) Rickli, Gregory Rickli, Diane (Rick) Reuter, Debra (James) Matinas, Kathleen McIntyre, Kevin (Maggie) Slattery, William Slattery and Janet (Isaac) Beasley; cousins Tyler Rickli, Ashley and Ryan Reuter, Jenny and Stewart Slattery, Danielle and Lindsey Burik, and Michael Slattery; and his beloved dogs Red and Blue, whom he and Amy rescued from the Humane Society. He is further survived by other loving relatives and friends.

Brandon and his dad were very close and had a special and unique father/son relationship. He had a special love for his mom and whenever he was sick or hurt, she is who he went to. He was a loving big brother and very protective of his younger sisters. He truly cherished family gatherings and traditions were very important to him. He loved his Aunt Margarets’ and cousin Sues’ turkey and dressing and grandma Karens’ date cookies.

We love you, our beautiful son and brother. We can’t wait until the day we see each other and can hold you in our arms once again. We miss you already. You will be in our hearts forever!
