Braelon Allen believes Badgers have best backfield in the nation

MADISON, Wis. — When the Badgers stepped up to the mic in Indy at Big Ten Media Days it was Big Ten title or bust. That theme carried over to their annual media day at Camp Randall, except Braelon Allen took it a step further.

The sophomore running back posted two pictures to twitter with the caption “Wisconsin Badgers: The Best Backfield In America”.

What’s driving that group this year isn’t their performance last season, it’s the trio they’re trying to be: Monte Ball, James White, and Melvin Gordon from 2012.

That season the 3-headed rushing attack ran for over 3,000 yards, 37 touchdowns, and won a Big Ten Championship — Wisconsin’s last.

As Allen put it, they don’t want to just duplicate them, but “to do better for sure”.
