Boy finds loaded gun in bushes

MADISON, Wis. — A 15-year-old boy found a loaded gun underneath leafless bushes near some woods on Madison’s west side, according to a release from Madison police.

Police said the boy spotted the gun on Tuesday while walking home on Ray-O-Vac Drive. He left the gun and went home to call police.

The boy met police in the area where the gun was found and pointed out the gun’s location to police.

Police retrieved the gun and thanked the boy for his help and “his keen eye.”
