What is your favorite part about living in Madison?
It’s not as hot and humid as the south.

What is the biggest news story that you’ve covered?
In my career, being live from the point of greatest eclipse during the total solar eclipse in 2017, in Madison, that’s to be determined, but I secretly hope it’s a blizzard… oops, did I say that out loud?

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spend time with friends, and mentoring others. I also really enjoy looking at houses and being on the water front.

What is your favorite kind of ice cream?
Strawberry! Hands down!

What is the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you?
The time a server asked me if I wanted to be on TV, and a commercial featuring me doing the weather was on the TV behind her, but she never knew.

What is your favorite place to vacation?
Anywhere I haven’t been before.

Who is your hero and why?
The calculus professor in college who told me to change my major and said I’d never be smart enough to be a meteorologist. It motivated me, and I graduated with flying colors and high achievements.

What was your favorite band when you were in high school?
Hillsong Worship

What is your favorite sport to play or watch?
Baseball! It’s so relaxing…somehow.

If you could possess one superhuman power, what would it be?
The ability to be invisible! I love being able to observe without being noticed.

What are you really bad at that you’d love to be great at?
Sports

What is your most memorable travel experience?
Attending a Broadcast Meteorology conference in Kansas City with a friend

What is the worst job you have ever had?
Calling the alumni of my university and asking them for donations…. Never again!

Who would you most like to interview alive or dead, and why?
The Apostle Paul

What is your favorite tradition around the holidays?
Putting up my Christmas Tree!

What is your favorite song of all time?
This changes every couple of weeks. Right now, it is Touch of Heaven by Hillsong Worship

What is your favorite movie of all time?
Facing the Giants

What is your favorite book of all time?
The Great Gatsby – F. Scott Fitzgerald

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Always forgive, the prisoner that forgiveness frees is yourself.

If you could relive any moment…what would that be?
The time I surprised my little brother, who was brokenhearted on prom day, and his face lit up and he jumped on me and wept tears of joy. He was 16 at the time.

Where were you when September 11, 2001 occurred?
In my first grade classroom in Houston, Texas. My mom came walking down the hallway in tears to pick me up, as the building she worked in was threatened with a strike.
