Bicyclist injured in collision with Buick, fire officials say

A car struck a bicyclist who was on Madison’s east side Tuesday afternoon, fire officials said.

The Madison Fire Department said crews responded to a report of a crash between a Buick Lucerne and a 35-year-old woman on a bicycle at 3:19 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find the cyclist lying in the middle of the intersection of Dolores Drive and Vondron Road.

The Buick driver said she was headed north on Vondron Road and making a left turn onto Dolores Drive when she struck the cyclist. Both parties said the car was traveling slowly, less than 15 mph, before the collision.

The cyclist was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the fire department said. The motorist was uninjured.
