Betty Lou Schwenn

OREGON- Betty Lou Schwenn, age 88, of Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, in Fitchburg.

She was born on August 29, 1928, the daughter of Pearl and Agnes Anderson and spent her early years in Stitzer until her marriage to Orrin Jones. Her brother, Pearl Jr. and sister, Mary both preceded her in passing.

One of Betty’s greatest pleasures in life was reading, she acquired a sharp mind and an ever expanding imagination from all the journeys she embraced through the stories she read. Betty is survived by her son, Kip (Joann) Jones of Monroe, Wash.; five grandchildren, Justin (Dawn) Jones, Britt Johnson, Eric Jones, James (Jessica) Jones and Jena Jones; six step-children, Brenda (John) Cuta, Daniel (Eileen) Schwenn, Rhonda Schwenn, Linda (Mike) Steussy, Lawrence (Colleen) Schwenn and Mark (Kim) Schwenn; 27 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Orrin Jones; son, Kim Jones; second husband, Charles Moravec; and third husband, Ronald J. Schwenn. Funeral services will be held at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 625 E. Netherwood St., Oregon, at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 24, 2017, with Pastor Paul Markquart presiding.

Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Home Health United Hospice.
