Betty Jean Richmond

Dodgeville / Linden – Betty Jean Richmond, age 77, of Dodgeville, formerly of Linden, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

Betty was born on January 6, 1936 in Blue Rapids, Kansas, a daughter of the late John and Doris (Paxton) Smith. She worked for Cobb Canning Factory, Advance Transformer and was a waitress in Dodgeville for many years. She was a member of Dodgeville United Methodist Church, Linden American Legion Auxiliary and was a leader for the Linden Loyals 4-H Club. She loved quilting, bingo and especially her family.

Betty is survived by her sons, Gregory (Wanda) Bowles, of Monticello and Gary Richmond, of Dodgeville; her grandchildren, Justin (Heather) Bowles, Travis Bowles, Austin Richmond, Garrett Richmond and Chantelle Richmond; her great grandson, Noah Bowles; her brother, John R. (Deloris) Smith, of Woodman, WI; her nephew, Allen Smith; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter-in-law, Angela Richmond and her step father, Arnold Peterson.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the DODGEVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. Rev. Charlene Bennett will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the church.
