Betty Elaine Brereton
LODI – Betty Elaine Brereton, age 93, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Haven Hills. She was born on March 12, 1929, in Mt. Horeb, the daughter of Theodore and Ruth (Heiser) Thompson.
Betty graduated from Barneveld High School in 1947. On Nov. 3, 1956, she married David Brereton. He preceded her in death in 1991.
Betty was employed with the Lodi Public School System until her retirement. She was a member of Lodi United Methodist Church and the Lodi American Legion Auxiliary
Betty was an avid Wisconsin sports fan including the Badgers, Packers, Bucks and Brewers and she also enjoyed music and traveling worldwide with her husband.
Betty is survived by her children, Lori, Theodore “Ted” (Maria), Jeanine, Patricia (Daniel) Simms, and Daniel; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and other relatives and many friends. In addition to her husband Dave, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, and three brothers.
Funeral Service will be held at LODI UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 130 Locust St., Lodi, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17. 2022, with Reverend Peace Kim presiding. Burial will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until 10:15 am on Monday.
