Betty Ann Worden

Betty Ann Worden, age 84, of Janesville, died on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center.

She was born on July 20, 1927.

She married Dale Worden in Dubuque, IA on Feb. 22, 1947, and he preceded her in death on May 22, 1981. She married Carl Sandgren on March 29, 1989, and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2003. Betty had been employed by Sears and the Rock County Health Care Center. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church, where she volunteered many hours for the Steven’s Ministry, taught Bethel Classes, Sunday school, adult bible study classes, and was Parish Nurse. Betty was very proud to obtain her nursing degree and put it to good use caring for many people.

She is survived by her 6 children: Keith (Gidget Flaherty) Worden of Gulf Port, FL, Karen (Greg) Tjossem of Brookings, OR, Dale (Kristy) Worden of Tierra Verde, FL Brent Worden of Tampa, FL. Duane Worden of Janesville and Clinton (Wanda) Worden of Wausau; many grandchildren; step son, Eric (Brenda) Sandgren; step daughter, Susan (Ray) Brown; special friend, Al Fuchs; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dale and Carl.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH with Rev. James Melvin officiating.

A visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY and again on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
