He served in the National Guard (1955-56) and the U.S. Air Force (1956-60). He was united in marriage to Margaret Olson in 1957. He retired from the U.S. Postal service after 26 years. He was an active member of the Madison Aquarium Club and shared his passion for fish with his wife and children. Bernie’s admiration for A.J. He was a lifelong Green bay Packer fan and proud share holder. He was a fan of the Men’s and Women’s Badger Basketball and Football. He enjoyed going to Milwaukee Brewers and Madison Mallards baseball games as well as watching and listening to them. Thanks to his nephew, Jim Olson, Jr. and friend, Joe Hasse, he was able to fish his last summer.
