Benjamin Peres Rastall

Benjamin Peres Rastall, age 65, of La Farge, died on Sunday, January 20, 2013, 4:20 PM at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. He was born June 17, 1947 in Richland Center, the son of Benjamin Luther and Marjorie Ruth (Buroker) Rastall. The family moved to Viola when he was three and then to La Farge when his father had a job at Nuzum Lumber. Ben proudly served the United States during the Vietnam war and earned the distinction of Navy SeaBee. Ben attended WTI for two years.
He was united in marriage with BeckyLou Kennedy on November 28, 1970. They lived in La Farge and raised their family together. His community involvement included Volunteer firefighting for 42 ½ years; he was a founding member of the La Farge Ambulance Squad; served as Police officer for the village; was a past member of the Village Board. His employment included working at Jeffers Truck Sales and then at the La Farge Truck Center for a combination of 35 years. In addition to hosting family gatherings, Ben and Becky enjoyed camping and dancing.
In addition to his wife Becky of La Farge, Ben is survived by three children: Todd of Onalaska, Adam and Heidi both of La Farge; three beloved dogs: Rascal, Sadie and Little Bear; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the LA FARGE FREE METHODIST CHURCH. Burial will be in the Viola Cemetery where military rites will be provided. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM. The Seland Huston Funeral Home is assisting the Rastall family with arrangements.
