Beloit collects debris for free

Severe storm caused extra yard waste

Beloit residents hit by last week’s storm can get rid of their debris free of charge with a curbside collection. The collection goes until Friday, Aug. 3, 2012.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 6, yard waste and storm debris must again be placed in a clear container, paper bag, or Back to Nature bio-degradable yard waste bag, according to the city of Beloit Public Works Operations.

Containers for collection may be no larger than 39 gallons and weigh no more than 60 pounds. Yard waste cannot be contained in plastic bags. A $1.50 sticker must be affixed to each bag, container and bundle.

Stickers for collection may be purchased at any City of Beloit municipal building, ACE Hardware stores, Walgreens, Woodman’s, and ShoKo.
