Beloit City Attorney appointed Interim City Manager

BELOIT, Wis. — Beloit’s City Attorney will have some extra responsibilities beginning next month.

Elizabeth Krueger, who also serves as the city’s Deputy City Manager will take over as Interim City Manager on August 5, when current City Manager Lori Curtis Luther steps down.

Curtis Luther is leaving her role to take the same job in Overland Park, Kan. She served as Overland Park’s Assistant City Manager from 2000 to 2005 and has family in the area.

“I implicitly trust City Attorney Krueger to protect the interests of the organization and the community at large,” Curtis Luther said in a statement.

Krueger has worked with the City of Beloit since 2006 and was appointed City Attorney in 2014.

“City Attorney Krueger will bring stability and continuity while we initiate the search for the next city manager,” City Council President Regina Dunkin. “The process will involve public participation and opportunities for community input.”
