A Facebook post about a bank robbery in Mauston on Friday led to an arrest at a casino when someone recognized the man in the post.

Mauston police said the BMO Harris Bank in downtown Mauston was robbed at 1 p.m. Friday. The Police Department posted an image to Facebook using surveillance images from the robbery.

That evening, someone at a Sauk County casino alerted security personnel when the person spotted someone matching the description of the person in the Facebook post. Police said video surveillance obtained by the casino confirmed that the man matched video pictures obtained from BMO Harris Bank at the time of bank robbery.

Zachary T. Compton, 25, of Michigan, was arrested without incident at the casino and tentatively charged with robbery of a financial institution.
