A studio used by bands for rehearsal space was damaged Friday when a refrigerator caught fire, officials said.

Crews were called around 6:50 p.m. to the 800 block of Stewart Street for a fire alarm going off in the building, which is comprised mainly of studio spaces used by bands, according to a release.

A band practicing at the time reported smoke in a common hallway, officials said. Firefighters forced entry into one of the studio spaces and found a refrigerator on fire.

Crews extinguished the fire, turned off all electrical power to the area, and sprayed it down with water, according to the release.

The room suffered significant damage in the fire, investigators said. The refrigerator was removed from the building.

No one was injured in the fire.
