Bakhtiari injury not serious

Packers prepare for preseason opener

Green Bay – Packers head coach Mike McCarthy was the bearer of good news at Monday morning’s press conference. He said offensive lineman David Bakhtiari’s left ankle injury is “not of a long-term nature.”

Bakhtiari was carted off the field during Saturday’s Family Night practice. A timetable for his return is unclear.

McCarthy went on to explain that he’s happy with his team’s depth, and he feels confident in the offensive line’s ability to shuffle different players to different positions.

“This is why you go through it. Just working the different combinations,” McCarthy said. “It’s really going to be important to see how it sorts out as far as- we’re fortunate to have a number of players that can play multiple positions. So how many you keep, and really these games, these first two games really will give you a better idea.”

The Packers open preseason play Thursday when they host the Tennessee Titans. Kickoff from Lambeau Field is set for 7 P.M.
