Badger Women’s basketball team upsets #7 ranked Penn State

It’s been a tough big ten season for the badger women’s basketball team. Entering Thursdays game against 7th ranked penn state, UW had just one conference winand they lost to the Nitty Lions by 44 two weeks ago.

But Bobbi kelsey’s squad plays inspired Thursday. With one minute to go Morgan Paige hits a three to put UW up 61-59. Paige had a career high 33.

Penn State ties the game at 63, but with seven seconds left Tiera Stephen hits the game winning lay up.

Wisconsin wins 63-61 for the biggest win–so far—in the Bobbi Kelsey era.

Wisconsin improves to 10-11 overall, 2-6 in Big Ten play. The loss marks Penn State’s first league loss, dropping it to 7-1 in Big Ten play and 17-3 overall.

Uw hosts Illinois Sunday at 2pm.
