Aviation bill could bring money back to travelers with missing bags

The House just passed a major aviation bill aimed at reducing lines, boosting security and putting cash back into travelers’ pockets if their luggage goes missing.
If the bill becomes law, airlines will be required to pay back checked-bag fees if luggage goes missing for 12 hours or more on domestic flights and 15 hours or more for international travel.
“So this is just another way that a business can build trust with a customer is to say, ‘You paid for it and we weren’t able to deliver so we are going to reimburse you,'” Laura Mael, of the regional Better Business Bureau, said.
Checking one bag can cost $25 to $75, according to airfarewatchdog.com
President Obama is expected to sign the bill Friday.
