Autopsy Shows Packers Coach’s Son Drowned

Preliminary autopsy results show Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin’s son drowned.

The Oshkosh Police Department issued a statement on Wednesday saying the autopsy shows the cause of 21-year-old Michael Philbin’s death was fresh water drowning. No other evidence suggesting foul play was found during the examination.

Toxicology reports won’t be available for at least several weeks.

Michael Philbin disappeared early Sunday morning while out with friends in the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus area. Divers found his body in the Fox River near the campus on Monday.

Police said their investigation continues.
