Austin Jeffrey Poppa

COTTAGE GROVE – Austin “Pops” Jeffrey Poppa, age 15, passed away unexpectedly doing what he loved, Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Austin was born July 19, 1996 in Madison to Richard and Karen Poppa. He was a sophomore at Monona Grove High School and worked part-time at Double Days. Austin loved hunting, fishing, listening to country music and all sports, especially baseball. Austin enjoyed wood working and spending time with his friends. We will never forget his contagious smile and his passion for life, especially the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all.

Caring son of Richard and Karen (Hayden) Poppa. Loving grandson of Doris Hayden, Francis and Judith Poppa. Cherished nephew of Karen Poppa of MN, Cathy (Andy) Harrison of Cottage Grove, James (Chrissy) Poppa of NC, Cheryl Hayden of Madison, Valerie ( Richard) Duerkop of Rothschild, Steve (Kris) Hayden of Eau Claire and David (Kay) Hayden of Eau Claire. Further survived by many cousins, family and friends. Preceded in death by his sister Amanda Brindle, his grandfather Gilbert Hayden, uncle Jeffrey Poppa and cousin Melissa Hayden.

Services will be held at DOOR CREEK CHURCH, 6602 Dominion Dr., Madison, at 11:00AM on Monday, May 14, 2012, with Pastor Kyle Glenn presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:00PM until 7:00PM on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at DOOR CREEK CHURCH. Additional visitation will be held at the church from 10:00AM until the time of the service on Monday. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.
