Arthur J. Riley

Arthur J. Riley, age 74, of Richland Center and formerly of Hutchinson, Kansas, died suddenly on Monday, June 11, 2012. He was born in Westford township, Richland County, Wisconsin on April 21, 1938, the son of William Robert Riley and Florence Conkle Riley.Art proudly served in the US Navy. He was discharged from
Naval Air Station in Yoder, Kansas. Art worked at Dillon’s Bakery where he retired after 38 years. He was a familiar friendly face at Wal-Mart, where he loved working and recently earned a ten-year certificate of employment. He loved watching The Price is Right, spending his spare time on the farm, baking, travelling, and shopping. He was diligent at ancestry research.
Survivors include: two brothers: Robert William Riley, Edward “Allen” Riley, two sons: James Richard Riley of Brunswick, GA; Jon Michael (Brenda) Riley of Hutchinson, KS; four grandchildren: Kristyn, Brittany, Patric, and Taylor; his significant other: Judy L. Benish of Richland Center; and her family Dawn (Joe) Propp of Richland Center, and her grandchildren McKenzie and Savanna Propp half sisters: Carolyn Kite, Charolette Carlberg, Maxine Kratiger and Nancy Hach; half brother Wayne Kite; other relatives and friends. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Military rites will be provided at the funeral home at the conclusion of the visitation by the local veterans military memorial honors unit. Inurnment will be in the Highland Cemetery at a later date. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
