Arthur A. Pond
Arthur A. Pond, age 80, of Port Richey, FL, and formerly of Janesville and Park Falls, WI, died on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at home surrounded by his family. Arthur was born in Madison on January 10, 1932, the son of Alonzo W. and Dorothy (Long) Pond. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard, and had been employed by US Forest Service. Arthur married Sandra L. Gustin in 1990.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sandy Pond of Port Richey, FL; 2 children, David (Anna) Pond of Rice Lake and Kristen Pond of De Pere, WI; 6 step children: Robert Martin of Weyauwega, WI, Joseph (Josie) Martin of Nevada, Karen (Jose) Vega of California, Shari (Rick) Diebold of Nevada, Jeffrey Martin of Park Falls, WI and Kelly (Brad) Larsen of De Pere, WI; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Rev. Chomingwen Pond of Minocqua, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012, at OAK HILL CEMETERY with Rev. Chomingwen Pond officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with full military honors. A visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER & CREMATORY.
