Arrest made in Fitchburg shots fired incident

FITCHBURG, Wis. — Fitchburg police arrested a man in connection with a shots fired incident from earlier in the month, according to a news release Friday.
Officials responded to the 2800 block of Oregon Road on May 11 regarding a shots fired report at an apartment complex parking lot. Police found nine shell casings at the scene and a vehicle that was hit by gunfire, though no one was hurt.
Three days later, investigators identified 24-year-old Adonius Paul as a suspect and took him into custody after following up on a lead. Fitchburg police Lt. Edward Hartwick said officials believe Paul was involved in firing at someone in a vehicle.
Police executed a search warrant at an apartment with ties to Paul on the 2700 block of Novation Parkway, where police reportedly found a stolen handgun.
Paul appeared in Dane County Circuit Court earlier in the week on charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapons and receiving stolen property.
An investigation into Fitchburg’s fifth confirmed shots fired incident of the year is ongoing. Those with information on the May 11 incident are encouraged to call the Fitchburg Police Department at 608-270-4300.
