Arletta Mae Wachter

Arletta Mae Wachter, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home on Fri. Sept. 1, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 26, 1933 in Baraboo to the late Edwin and Selma (Buelow) Garske. Arletta was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Baraboo and later confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Leland in 1947. She was a graduate of Prairie du Sac High School. Arletta married Roman Wachter on Jan. 12, 1963; he preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2010. Together they farmed in the Troy Township and later enjoyed traveling and playing cards in their retirement. After Roman’s death, Arletta moved to Sauk City where she still enjoyed playing cards, short trips and was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Prairie du Sac.

Arletta is survived by her two sons, Terry and Dale Wachter both of Sauk City; sisters in-law, Cecelia Raleigh and Jean Baumgartan; many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler on Dec. 2, 2010; sister, Delores Baier on Dec. 24, 2010 and an infant sister.

A funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wed. Sept. 6, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 100 Oak St., Prairie du Sac. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tues. Sept. 5 at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Sauk City.

Memorials may be made in Arletta’s name to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Prairie du Sac.
