Area teams go 0-3 early on Day 2 of WIAA State Baseball Tournament

June 13, 2018 — Grand Chute – The second day of the WIAA State Baseball Tournament wasn’t kind to teams from southern Wisconsin. Ithaca fell 3-1 to Athens and Johnson Creek dropped a 6-5 decision to Thorp in the Division 4 semifinals.
Despite having just two hits, St. Mary Catholic shut out Mineral Point 4-0 in the Divsion 3 semis.
Waunakee will play Arrowhead in Thursday’s Division 1 title game. Arrowhead eliminated Janesville Craig on a walk-off home run late Tuesday night.
