Area health care provider wins award of excellence

SSM Health Care of Wisconsin was honored with the Wisconsin Forward Award of Excellence Tuesday night, according to a release.
This is the first time SSMHC/WI has received the award, officials said. This is also the first time since 2009 that a Wisconsin organization received the excellence award.
The award acknowledges SSMHC/WI for management excellence with superior results, according to the release.
“SSMHC/WI demonstrates several best practices, including the system-wide organizational ethics effort, its Corporate Responsibility Process, the Steal Shamelessly program and the Emerging Leaders program. The CRP is recognized nationally as best practice,” Wisconsin Forward Award examiners said.
Wisconsin Forward Award is the state’s premier organization for the promotion and recognition of high-performance practices, according to the release.
“Excellence level recognition for the Wisconsin Forward Award is truly an honor,” said Gaurov Dayal, interim regional president and CEO of SSM Health Care of Wisconsin. “We are very proud of this accomplishment, which recognizes our quality practices, business results and constant efforts to learn more and improve.”
The application included St. Mary’s Hospital and St. Mary’s Care Center in Madison, St. Clare Hospital and St. Clare Meadows Care Center in Baraboo and St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital.
