Ardes Emily Klug (Degner)

ARDES E. KLUG, age 87 of Jefferson passed away Wednesday June 28, 2017 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.

She was born on May 15, 1930 in the Town of Ixonia, daughter of the late Herbert and Adela (Kuester) Degner. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Ixonia and graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1948. On October 23, 1948 she married Albert “Bud” Klug from Farmington. Their marriage was blessed with four children. Bud and Ardes owned and operated the A & W that was in Jefferson, she worked at South Gate Floral, and was an Avon Representative for many years. She and Bud were the Gemuetlichkeit King and Queen in 1990. She is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson and the Eunice Society and served on the Lakeside Lutheran Ladies Guild. Ardes enjoyed singing and was a member of the Grace Notes from St. John’s and sang with the Rock River Chapter of Sweet Adeline’s International. She will be deeply missed by her family, Husband “Bud” Klug of Jefferson,

Daughters; Dianne (Rev. Philip) Koelpin of Greenville WI, Debra (Randy) Stauffer of Jefferson.
Sons; Charles “Chuck” (Bev) Klug of Jefferson, James “Jim” (Anne) Klug of Jefferson.
12 grandchildren; Shelley (Rev. Andrew) Fix, Mary (Rev. Joel) Heckendorf, Rev. David (Toni) Koelpin,
Rev. Stephen (Katie) Koelpin, Thomas (Jessica) Klug, Sarah (Brandon) Kaulitz, Staci Klug,
Brian (Barbra) Klug, Jeffrey Klug, Peter (Amy) Stauffer, Heidi (Corey) Gerth, Elise (Charles) Hougan.
20 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers Nordine, Ruben and Willard Degner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 3, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in
Jefferson with the Rev. Joshua Martin and Rev. Matthew Krenke officiating. Burial will follow in the Christberg Cemetery.

Visitation will take place from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday July 2, 2017 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson and then again on Monday morning at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be given to Lakeside Lutheran High School, or to the Grace Notes of St. John’s
