Anna Mae Dahlk

WEST MIDDLETON-Anna Mae Dahlk, age 95, passed away peacefully on Wed. March 2, 2016 at Rest Haven Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 21, 1920 to Wilhelm (Rudy) Mandt and Helen (Niebuhr) Mandt. She was united in marriage to Norman Dahlk and they shared 66 wonderful years together. Anna lived and farmed with Norman in the West Middleton area. She also cooked at Chadburn Hall, and was the first head cook when Middleton High started their hot lunch program, where she remained for many years.
Anna also was very involved in 4-H and cooked at Upham Woods for the dorm kids at the Dane County Fair. She taught Sunday school at West Middleton Lutheran Church.
In the early 70’s they moved to Northern Wisconsin. Anna Mae was the baker at MHLT Grade School in Hazelhurst. She enjoyed the school kids and became known as Cookie to many for the cookies she baked. She was also active in the Lake Tomahawk American Legion Ladies Auxilliary. In the late 80’s they returned to the Middleton area.
Anna Mae is survived by her children, Jim (Sue) Dahlk, Ruth (Gene) Stormer, John (Mutzy) Dahlk, Kristine (Tim) Stapleton; grandchildren, Dan (Lisa) Stormer, Teresa Stormer, Todd( Debbie)Stormer, Tim (Nikki) Stormer, Brad (Renee) Dahlk, Mike (Michelle) Dahlk, Scott (Jody) Dahlk, Jesse (Shara) Dahlk, Jennifer (Brett) Esser, Jamie(Bonnie) Dahlk, Rob (Jessica) Stapleton, Ryan (Jill) Stapleton; 22 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Vernon (Delores) Mandt, Jack (Joanie) Mandt, Billie (Peggy) Mandt, Alice Knapton; her in-laws, Lucille Mandt, Dorothy Volker, Bob (Joanie) Dahlk, Neiva Dahlk and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 66 years, Norman, she was preceded in death by a grandson John Stormer; siblings, Fritz (Wilma)Mandt, Marion Mandt, Thomas Mandt, Lois Stampfli and in-laws, Eldon ( Dorothy) Dahlk, Bruce Volker, Lyle Dahlk and Judy Dahlk.
Funeral services will be held at WEST MIDDLETON LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3763 Pioneer Road, Middleton at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016 and also on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mom was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
