Ann E. Gebhard

JANESVILLE— Ann E. Gebhard, age 86, of Janesville, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Evansville Manor.

She was born in Woodman, WI, on July 4, 1925, the daughter of Eugene and Emma (Bender) Freymiller.

A longtime resident of Boscobel, Ann married Erwin Gebhard on Feb. 22, 1946. He preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1968. Together they farmed in the Boscobel area and following Erwin’s death, she worked as a teacher’s aide and nurse’s aide. Ann moved to Janesville in 1990 where she was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and a part of the woman’s group.

She is survived by her 7 children: Barbara (Bill) Kienbaum of Janesville, William “Bill” (Karen) Gebhard of Mt. Horeb, Darlene (Donald) Newman of Lander, WY, Janet (David) Landby of Warroad, MN, Mary (Daniel) Connolly of New Brighton, MN, Linda Haney of Boscobel, and John (Tammy) Gebhard of Galena, IL; 16 grandchildren: Tim (Kelli) Kienbaum, Craig (fiance, Kelly Walsh) Kienbaum, Mark (Amanda) Kienbaum, Tammy (Jason) Wilkinson, Tina (Bill) Demrow, Michael (Tricia) Newman, Anna (Jason) Lenz, Rachel (Adam) Kopperud, Tyler and Brent Connolly, Amanda (Eric) Jorgenson, Jennifer, Jeremy, and Jodie Haney, Skyler and Seanna Gebhard; 15 great grandchildren: Alex and Zachary Kienbaum, Greg and Justin Hackett, Morgan Demrow, Katie and Trevor Wilkinson, Rianna MacFarlane, Lydia and Claire Jorgenson, Nathan and Isabelle Lenz, Landen Haney, Sophie Kopperud, and Patrick Newman; and 2 brothers, Herman Freymiller of Madison and Alfred (Virginia) Freymiller of Woodman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Timothy; grandson, Scott Newman; great grandson, Scott Newman; son-in-law, Russ Haney; and sisters, Gladys Nelson and Olga Lenz.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012, at ST. PETER’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, Janesville, with Rev. Bruce Gray officiating. Burial will be in Boscobel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the CROSS and CROWN ROOM at ST. PETER’S LUTHERAN CHURCH and again on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.

Memorials are preferred to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Janesville, or St. John’s Lutheran Church, Boscobel.
