WATERLOO/COLUMBUS—Alvin W. Wolf age 83, formerly of Waterloo, passed away after a long struggle on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Larson House in Columbus.

He was born on January 18, 1929 in Mattoon to Albert and Bertha (Blodgett) Wolf.

Alvin was married to Betty Kirkpatrick on December 15, 1950 in Beloit. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U. S. Army. Alvin was a former OTR truck driver with his brother, Everett. He worked for many years at Crepaco in Lake Mills before retirement. Alvin was an active member of the Church of the Narazene in Columbus. He loved musky fishing, gardening, puzzles and playing solitaire.

Survivors include his four daughters, Raynelle (Vern) Butzine of Waterloo, Christine (Brenda Wurtinger) Nichols of Antigo, Sue (Greg) Duckert of Waterloo, Cindy (Jeff) Loomis of Sun Prairie; one son, Gary (Sherry) of Waterloo; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Arndt of Reedsburg, Minnie Stich of Clinton IA, Mildred (Henry Ebert) Allar of Fall River; three brothers, Everett (Betty) of Antigo, Norman (Carol) of Reedsburg, James of Marshall; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty in 2006; granddaughter, Sara Fries in 2009; two sister-in-laws, Donna Wolf and Jeanne Wolf; a brother-in-law, Del Arndt; a niece, Patty Wolf.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE in Columbus. Pastor Floyd Laabs will officiate.

Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Columbus with military honors.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 4 at the funeral home, and from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the church on Saturday.
