Alliant Energy crews to assist with Hurricane Irma
MADISON, Wis. — Alliant Energy will send trucks Tuesday to assist in restoring power in Florida following the damage caused by Hurricane Irma.
About 200 Alliant Energy personnel from Iowa and Wisconsin have volunteered to spend two weeks in restoration efforts.
Alliant Energy will be keeping some staff in the Midwest in the event of a storm in the area.
Many energy companies near Florida were already helping with the response to Hurricane Harvey, but the damage from Hurricane Irma was so extensive that Midwest energy companies were asked for help.
