Alleged robber killed after victim opens fire

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police say an armed robber who accosted a group of victims has died after one of the victims opened fire with a handgun.
Police say the shooting happened Monday about 5:30 a.m.
Authorities say the robber was one of four people who tried to rob the victims. One victim pulled out a handgun and fired, killing the suspect. The other three suspects fled.
Police say several arrests have been made. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the shooter was among those arrested. Authorities are still working to identify the person who died.
The police department says the alleged thieves may have been involved in several other recent robberies.
