Albert J. Zeier

COLUMBUS/FALL RIVER—Albert J. Zeier age 80, died peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek. He was born on February 10, 1932 in Madison to Lawrence and Elsie (Helker) Zeier. Albert was a 1949 graduate of Lodi High School. He grew up on the family farm in Dane, later operating the family farm in Lodi. Albert was married to Pauline Copeland on May 10, 1958 in Benton. He was employed at Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison from 1958 until his retirement in 1994. Albert enjoyed the outdoors, whether camping, hunting, fishing, travelling, or his many hours tending to his large garden. He also enjoyed dining out, euchre and wine making, but above all, he loved time spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Albert was a member of the Columbus United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline of Fall River; four daughters, Tamar “Tammy” (Thomas) Wylesky of Fall River, Cheryl (Ronald) Hurckman of Columbus, Lauri (Todd) Jensen of Fall River; Jennifer (Brandon) Leverenz of Monroe; four sons, Mark of Eagle Pass TX, Kevin (Kathleen) of Ridgeway, Timothy of Dracut MA, Benjamin (Shelby) of Neenah; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Frances Warren of Madison and his twin sister, Annette Dohm of Waterford; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Joshua; two brothers-in-law, Herbert Warren and Theodore Dohm; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Copeland and Jane Copeland.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the COLUMBUS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Columbus. Pastor Jim Cotter will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Columbus. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home, and from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church on Friday.
