Aaron Rodgers, Danica Patrick give gift of hearing in Africa

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, in partnership with the Starkey Hearing Institute, traveled to Zambia to help people hear again WFRV-TV reported.

The couple traveled to Lusaka, Zambia, over the weekend, to fit people with hearing aids, the Green Bay Gazette reported.

“It’s a beautiful thing to be halfway across the world helping these people out today,” Rodgers said in a video during the trip. “It’s hard to put into words really. Think about being able to change these people’s lives, it’s pretty special.”

Patrick and Rodgers also visited the Starkey Hearing Institute, the Gazette reported. The institute, which opened in 2016, has graduated two classes of hearing specialists and has helped more than 100 adults and children with their hearing.

While on the trip, Rodgers played catch with a young man and Patrick danced with a girl she helped fit with a hearing aid.
