8 places to take your mom this Mother’s Day

Looking to treat mom this weekend? Here are a few places in the area to take her out for a meal or a drink.

Brunch and a show
The Bur Oak will host a Mother’s Day Drag Brunch that features a drag show with brunch catered by Ahan. Brunch items include Pahan waffles and Lao sausage fried rice, in addition to the restaurant’s regular menu. Mixed drinks from State Line Distillery will also be available. Tickets are $10, with food and drinks sold separately, and available at theburoakmadison.com. Doors open 10 a.m., show starts at 11:30 a.m., May 8, 2262 Winnebago St. 

Enjoy a classic brunch
For Mother’s Day brunch, Cafe Hollander will serve brunch featuring a loaded banana bread and a Caprese benedict that comes with lots of tomatoes and breakfast potatoes. 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 7&8, 701 Hilldale Way

Free drinks for mom
Lone Girl Brewing Co.  is hosting a Mother’s Day brunch, which features a complimentary mimosa or beer for all moms dining in. The restaurant will serve its regular brunch menu in addition to a few extra items. Reservations for brunch are available here. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., May 8, 114 E. Main St., Waunakee 

Multiple meals at Everyday
Everyday Kitchen is serving both brunch and dinner for Mother’s Day. Mom can get fried chicken and waffles with a jumbo mimosa for brunch or steamed mussels and a glass of wine for dinner. Listen to some live jazz
After taking your mom out for brunch, treat her to some live jazz music at The Cider Farm. Enjoy a cider while listening to The Pray Trio, a Madison-based jazz act. 1-3 p.m., May 8, 8216 Watts Road 

More free drinks (and flowers)
Moms can drink free mimosas at Bierock this Sunday with the added bonus of free flowers. The restaurant is open for brunch and dinner, so you can take your mom to whatever meal she’s feeling on her day. 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., May 8, 2911 N. Sherman Ave. 

Wine and dine this Mother’s Day
If your mom is a wine lover, consider taking her to Cambridge Winery for Mother’s Day brunch. In addition to wines, Cambridge’s special brunch will also feature breakfast pizza, eggs and sausage on the menu. Go out for a hard cider on Saturday
Wild State Cider, a Duluth-based cidery, will host a cider tasting at Brennan’s Market on Saturday. Sip on Classic dry, semi-dry, hibiscus raspberry rose and pear as well as limited quantities of raspberry chipotle with Mom. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 7, 8210 Watts Road
