8 a.m. traffic stop leads to 4th OWI charge

A Janesville man was charged with fourth-offense drunken driving after a traffic stop at 8 a.m. Monday, officials said.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office said a sergeant deputy ran a DOT check on the registration plate of a vehicle traveling on Highway 59 and Salisbury Road in Lima Township at about 8 a.m. and the registered owner came back with a revoked driving status.
The sergeant stopped 38-year-old Isidoro Flores-Ramos and detected an odor of intoxicants on Flores-Ramos’s breath as he made contact with him, the sheriff’s office said.
Flores-Ramos reportedly failed field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of fourth-offense operating while intoxicated, operating while revoked and no proof of insurance.
Flores-Ramos was taken to the Rock County Jail, where he was held for a court appearance on Tuesday, according to the report.
