7 displaced when electrical fire breaks out in multi-tenant building, officials say

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — Seven people were displaced Monday morning when an electrical fire started in the attic portion of their second-floor apartment, officials said.
Firefighters were sent out around 2:15 a.m. to a structure fire at a four-unit building in the 1700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, according to the release.
Fire crews found a fire in the ceiling on the second floor in the bathroom, officials said. Crews evacuated the building, and put out the fire.
No injuries were reported, but the unit where the fire happened was uninhabitable, according to the release. Seven people were displaced.
The fire caused about $15,000 in damage.
Investigators determined the fire was caused by an electrical issue.
Firefighters were also sent out just before 6 p.m. Sunday to a reported structure fire at a large commercial structure at 641 Main St., according to a release.
Police said there was smoke through the building.
Firefighters found a small debris fire in the bathroom of the structure, according to the release. Crews put out the fire and ventilated the building.
Sun Prairie police are investigating the incident.
Damage was minimal, and the property is set to be demolished in the near future, officials said. No injuries were reported.
