56-year-old dies in semitrailer crash near New Lisbon

A 56-year-old Minneapolis man was killed in a crash on Interstate 90/94 early Tuesday morning when the semitrailer went up a bridge embankment and crashed, officials said.
The crash happened around 4:25 a.m. near mile marker 64 eastbound, which is just east of New Lisbon, officials said.
Investigators said the semitrailer drifted into the median and hit the Welsh Prairie Road overpass. The 56-year-old driver was ejected from the vehicle.
The left eastbound lane was closed until about 1:20 p.m.
Wisconsin Department of Transportation bridge inspectors responded to assess the integrity of the bridge, officials said.
Officials said they do not believe alcohol was a contributing factor.
The name of the 56-year-old man is being withheld pending notification of the family.
