51-year-old dies 2 weeks after Dodge County crash, officials say
TOWN OF THERESA, Wis. — A driver who was injured in a Dodge County crash died at the hospital two weeks later, officials said.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a report of a collision between a Ford Mustang and a pickup truck at 5:10 p.m. Sept. 13 in the town of Theresa.
According to the report, 51-year-old John Rockefeller, of Mayville, was driving a Ford Mustang east on County Road TW approaching the intersection with County Road AY. The intersection is controlled by stop signs on County Road TW at the intersection.
Barry Sterr, 58, of Theresa, was driving a pickup truck south on County AY, approaching the intersection with County TW. The car entered the intersection and was struck by the pickup truck.
Rockefeller was taken by Flight for Life to Aurora Summit Hospital where he died on Wednesday, 14 days after the crash, the sheriff’s office said.
Sterr was taken by ambulance to St. Agnes in Fond du Lac for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to a news release.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team and the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
