5 suspects in death of man found in Lake Mendota head to trial

The five suspects in the murder of Jacob Payne were in court Tuesday.

Rudy Alberto Ramirez-Milian, 27, of Waunakee, and Juan Aguilar-Vargas, 27, of Madison, are charged in Payne’s murder.

Saul R. Garcia-Rosario, 35, Elmer O. Ramirez-Milian, 37, and Erlin Y. Vargas, 28, are charged with helping hide the body.

All of them were bound over for trial.

Payne’s body was found earlier this month in Lake Mendota. Authorities said he was stabbed and killed.
