Wednesday, Jan. 1
If you lived it up a little too much on the final night of 2019, head to these New Year’s Day brunches to get on the right track for the new year.

DLUX will quickly turn around after hosting a New Year’s Eve bash until the wee hours of Jan. 1 and hold New Year’s Day Brunch in the morning. Treat any lingering New Year’s Eve side effects and start your year with a build-your-own bloody mary bar or a shake made with Sassy Cow Creamery ice cream, with or without booze. Add an order of fresh donut balls or fried pickles and you can’t go wrong. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Click here for more information

Roll out of bed and roll into Avenue Club for its New Year, New Pancake Pajama Brunch. Ring in the year with a stack from the pancake bar, complete with toppings galore. And, out of respect for those sleeping in after counting down the minutes to midnight, a mimosa will be served free of charge to anyone (ages 21 and older) who arrives in pajamas. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Click here for more information

For another pajama-friendly brunch, attend Pajama Brunch on New Year’s Day at HopCat. Ease into 2020 with an order of salted caramel chicken and waffles or the aptly-named hangover scramble. Mimosas, bloody marys and “glitter cocktails” will cost $5. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Click here for more information

Everly’s Lots of Grains hotcakes, made with whole grains and oats, come served with Wisconsin maple syrup and butter.

Anyone who made a resolution to eat less meat in the new year can get off to a good start at Everly’s New Year’s Day Brunch. Try the restaurant’s numerous vegan and vegetarian options, including edamame hummus toast or Lots of Grains hotcakes (pictured above). Round out your brunch with a Bacon + Eggs bloody, made with bacon-infused Tito’s Vodka, or the Bruto Beermosa. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Click here for more information

Vintage Brewing Co. Capitol East will also offer a New Year’s Day Brunch. Launch your year the hearty way with favorites like poutine with Cedar Grove cheese curds or biscuits and gravy. This brunch is sure to satisfy all your cravings and take care of any morning-after ailments. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Click here for more information

Friday, Jan. 3
With the arrival of the weekend comes your chance to get a head start on spreading goodwill in 2020. These two fundraising events will allow you to give back and get out.

Come see Honey LaBronx, vegan drag queen and host of Big Fat Vegan Radio, at Crucible for Madison Vegan Drag Show Fundraiser, and show your support for multiple good causes. The 18 and older event will serve as a fundraiser for both OutReach LGBT Community Center and Madison Vegan Fest. $20 suggested donation. 7-9 p.m. Click here for more information

Over at BarleyPop Live, Tipsy for Taramins will take place, raising funds to support the conservation of golden lion tamarin monkeys. Funds will go to Save the Golden Lion Tamarin, a public charity created 15 years ago by U.S.-based conservation professionals to support the endangered animals. The local chapter of the National Association of Zoo Keepers will co-host this event. 5-8 p.m. Click here for more information

Sunday, Jan. 5
You can also start the new year by learning a new skill. Pasture and Plenty will host a master class, New Year’s Donut Workshop, led by owner Christy McKenzie. Plus, guests will get the scoop on donuts’ culinary history of having good luck qualities, making them the perfect New Year’s treat. $50. 1-3 p.m. Click here for more information
