4 GOP Senators Have $734K For Recall Elections
The four Republican state senators targeted for recall are reporting that collectively they have about $734,000 in the bank to fight to hold onto their seats.
The lawmakers released their totals on Thursday to The Associated Press in advance of Monday’s reporting deadline.
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald of Juneau reported having the most money on hand with $370,000. The other three had between $112,000 and $134,000 cash on hand. They are Pam Galloway of Wausau, Terry Moulton of Chippewa Falls and Van Wanggaard of Racine.
Recall organizers submitted more than enough signatures on Tuesday to force elections in all four districts. State elections officials are in the process of verifying those signatures and it’s not known when any elections may be.
There is only one announced Democratic challenger.
