3 local therapy dog organizations in the Madison-area
These dogs provide comfort and affection

While service dogs are trained to aid people who are blind or have other disabilities, a therapy dog’s job is simply to provide comfort, entertainment and affection. Here are three of the many local therapy dog groups in our area:
Pet Pals
Recruits and trains teams of volunteers and their dogs at UW Children’s Hospital to visit pediatric patients, many of whom are hospitalized for extended periods with severe diseases.
Dogs on Call Inc.
Matches dogs with medical, residential and educational facilities. The nonprofit also provides training for volunteers and their dogs.
Pets for Vets
Pairs animals from rescue shelters with military veterans. The pets provide the vets with unconditional love and support while easing stress, depression, loneliness and anxiety.
