2 of 3 inmates AWOL from corrections camp captured

Two of the three inmates who walked away from a corrections boot camp in western Wisconsin have been recaptured.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said two deputies found Andre L. Vance during a routine patrol on Larry Lane in the Town of Burkey Friday afternoon. According to a release, the deputies saw a man in a residential driveway about 3 p.m. who matched the description of one of the fugitives. Vance fled into the residence, but deputies gained entry and took Vance into custody without incident.
Vance was transported to the Dane County Jail and booked on a parole hold.
New Richmond police said another inmate, Kyle J. Peterson, was arrested about 8 a.m. Friday at a home in Whitewater on a tip from the public. He’s being held in the Walworth County Jail.
Vance, Peterson and fellow inmate Jesse J. Fairley walked away from the St. Croix Correctional Center in New Richmond Wednesday night. It’s a minimum-security facility where the men were taking part in a boot camp program that includes manual work assignments and discipline.
Authorities are still searching for Fairley. While authorities don’t believe the escaped inmate is in New Richmond, residents are advised to keep their homes locked.
