2 killed, 1 injured in head-on crash, officials say

TOWN OF SUGAR CREEK, Wis. — Two people were killed and a third was severely injured Friday night in a two-vehicle head-on crash in Walworth County, officials said.
Walworth County sheriff’s deputies received a report around 5:10 p.m. of a two-vehicle head-on crash on Highway 12/67 about a half mile north of County Road ES in the town of Sugar Creek, according to a release.
Two pickup trucks with extensive damage were in the middle of the road when deputies arrived, officials said.
A silver 2000 Nissan Frontier pickup truck was being driven south on Highway 12/67 by 24-year-old Eufemio Jimenez Ferrel, of Round Lake, Illinois, when he crossed the center line and hit a gray 2007 Chevy Silverado, being driven north by 52-year-old Ronald Passfield, of Genoa City, according to the release.
Jimenez Ferrel was pronounced dead the scene, officials said. Passfield and his passenger, 51-year-old Jill Krane, of Genoa City, were taken to hospital with critical injuries. Passfield later died. Krane’s injuries were severe, but non-life-threatening.
Highway 12/67 was closed three and a half hours as crews investigated the crash.
