2 Janesville men killed in Vernon County crash
Woman suffered minor injuries

TOWN OF GENOA, Wis. — Two Janesville men were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Vernon County on Friday, according to a release from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to State Highway 56 near County Road K in the town of Genoa at 9:41 p.m. for a report of a crash.
Investigators said a vehicle driven by Cody P. Carter, 21, of Janesville was traveling west when he lost control while negotiating a curve, crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Jocelyn Ann Pedretti, 18, of Genoa. Carter’s vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest in the ditch on its top.
Carter and his passenger, Aaron R. Curtis, 24, of Janesville, were pronounced dead at the scene. Pedretti was taken to Gunderson Lutheran Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Deputies said speed appears to be a factor in the crash. All involved were wearing seat belts.
The Wisconsin State Patrol, Stoddard-Bergen Fire Department, Genoa-Harmony Fire District, Genoa-Harmony First Responders, Tri-State Ambulance and the Vernon County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene.
