2 injured in chain-reaction crash in Grant County, officials say

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — Two people were injured in a four-vehicle chain-reaction crash in Grant County Tuesday morning, officials said.
Emergency crews were called around 7:40 a.m. to a crash on southbound Highway 80 at Country Road 80/81 near Platteville, according to a release.
A 17-year-old Platteville girl was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Classic south on Highway 80 when she rear-ended a 2006 Mazda 6, being driven by 24-year-old David M. Zielinski, of Muskego, which was stopped and waiting to turn left onto Highway 81, investigators said.
The collision of the two cars pushed Zielinski’s vehicle into oncoming northbound traffic on Highway 80 where it was hit head-on by a 2003 Hyundai Sonata, being driven by 40-year-old Jodi Lynn Dostie, of Cuba City, according to the release. Zielinski’s vehicle was spun around in the crash and was rear-ended a second time by another northbound vehicle, a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer being driven by 25-year-old Scott John Berning, of Cuba City.
Zielinski and Dostie were taken to Southwest Health Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Zielinski’s passenger, 24-year-old Nicholas A. Quincy, of Platteville, the 17-year-old girl and Berning were not injured in the crash.
