2 hurt when small plane crashes in Shawano County farm field

Two people are recovering after the small plane they were riding in crashed into a farm field in northeast Wisconsin.

The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department was notified of the crash just after 9 a.m. Sunday in a field near the town of Waukechon, about 8 miles south of Shawano.

The pilot and the co-pilot were taken to a hospital with injuries that aren’t considered to be life-threatening. Their identities haven’t been released by the Sheriff’s Department.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
