2 escape serious injury in Racine Co. plane crash
Plane came down in a cornfield
TOWN OF BURLINGTON, Wis. — A pilot and his passenger are OK after a small home-built plane made a crash landing near the Burlington Municipal Airport.
The Racine County Sheriff’s Office said the plane crashed Saturday afternoon. The male pilot and his female passenger reported minor injuries.
Sgt. Dan Hogan told The Journal Times the two reportedly had left the Burlington airport on a pleasure flight when they heard a strange sound while in the air.
Hogan said the plane started to vibrate and the pilot knew he had to land.
A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration said the plane came down in a cornfield about two miles north of the airport.
